Accommodations

The newest and biggest hotel: Radisson SAS Tallinn. Many rooms, great view from TOP. Radisson SAS is the highest building house in Estonia. The second highest is on the left of the picture, Ühispank bank`s main building. Ühispank is the second largest bank in Estonia. Radisson SAS have nice restaurant madissoni leib ja lust on the ground floor. Conference centre is in the 1st floor. It is hot summer there and Radisson is one of the few buildings have air conditioning in all rooms (it`s my feeling). Usually buildings don`t have air conditioning because Estonian weather is cold enough and it`s not profitable to invest to equipment for 1 month in year. Other hotels are on Tallinn Tourism Info Page

Tourist Trap

Shopping is one of the greatest traps. Many tourists visit Estonia just for shopping. because it`s cheap. Some western countries may be tens of times more expensive. If shopping, remember: the exchange rate is about 1 DEM = 8 EEK. Estonian kroon (EEK) is fixed to German mark. So, how much is cheap? Stylist 120-160 EEK, heavy-knit sweater 1000 EEK, beer 8-12 EEK (shop price) etc. They say it`s cheap... but it`s city prices, going outside the town centre it`s cheaper, especially at market places like Kadaka turg or Keskturg.
